InstyMeds utilizes a web based prescription writing software application. Ten simple clicks can generate a prescription for your patients. Patient information is received electronically from your Practice Management System or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems through industry standard interfaces or is easily entered through a web application. Electronic prescriptions are sent through secure networks to the InstyMeds Dispensing application allowing patients to fill their prescriptions at the InstyMeds Dispenser.
The patient has the choice of
receiving a printed prescription to bring to a pharmacy,
or
receiving a prescription order to receive medication at the InstyMedsTM
dispenser right in the medical site. Whichever method
the patient chooses, handwriting errors are eliminated.

Although the Company anticipates
that future models will vary in size, the current model
holds 100 different drugs and from 8 to 22 bottles of
each drug. (For most specialties, 45 drugs represent
over 80% of what is prescribed.) The unit is capable
of labeling and dispensing nearly any form of medication
including tablets, capsules, inhalers, sprays, creams
and ointments, suspensions and syrups.

Since InstyMeds interfaces with
the medical facilities registration system, there is no
need to re-enter insurance information. Insurance approval
is obtained real time. If there is an insurance issue,
it is routed to the InstyMeds call center freeing up the
medical staff from time-consuming pharmacy callbacks. |

Prescription drugs received in only
a few minutes.
Patients interface with a color touch
screen featuring large, easy to use buttons.
Multiple barcode procedures (3 separate
bar code reads) ensure accurate drug dispensing that is safer
than human package selection and labeling. Patients receive
drug education sheets when the medication is prescribed. The
information sheets are similar to those received at a pharmacy.
Co-pays are accepted via credit or debit
card (similar to an automated gas pump). The patient also has the ability to pay with cash by using a cash acceptor on the dispenser.
Telephone
(mounted on the dispenser) is available to speak to a pharmacist
and patients are given a toll free number to call for a 24-hour/day
pharmacist help line. Clients can refill prescriptions at
any local pharmacy.
